Welcome to Neifert, Byrne & Ozga, P.C., an Iowa law firm providing legal services to injured Iowans in three primary areas - Iowa workers' compensation, personal injury and short/long term disability matters. We represent only the injured party (claimants or plaintiffs) in these actions. Our representation encompasses workers and injured parties throughout the State of Iowa, and in many cases individuals who reside in other states but have an injury in Iowa or a Iowa workers' compensation claim that can be brought in Iowa.
The Iowa workers' compensation attorneys at Neifert, Byrne and Ozga, P.C. are Jason Neifert, James (Jamie) Byrne, and Martin (Marty) Ozga. Each attorney has substantial experience in representing injured Iowans. Jason Neifert has 15 years of experience representing injured Iowans, in the areas of workers' compensation, personal injury and long term disability. Jamie Byrne has represented injured workers since 1996 and has 14 years of legal experience. Jamie is bilingual and represents numerous individuals who speak Spanish. Marty Ozga has represented injured workers since 1999, and has over 30 years of legal experience, including 18 years as litigation director for the Legal Services Corporation of Iowa. Jason, Jamie and Marty have spoken on numerous occasions on topics involving the rights of injured Iowans. They are all members of the Iowa Association for Justice (IAJ), and Jason and Marty are members of the Core Group of the IAJ, a group that provides leadership in the Iowa workers' compensation field to claimant's attorneys. Jason is the current chair of the Core Group.
In addition to the Iowa workers' compensation attorneys at Neifert, Byrne &Ozga, the legal assistants who work with our attorneys have substantial experience working with their respective attorneys and in addressing, with their attorneys, the needs of the injured workers who are being represented. Kathy Mudge has been a legal assistant for 14 years, and has worked with Jason Neifert since 1997. Anya Shipman has worked with Marty Ozga since she became a legal assistant in 2001. Diana Andrews has worked as a legal assistant for Jamie Byrne since 2005. Together, our attorneys and legal assistants provide legal assistance to injured workers in Iowa workers' compensation, personal injury and long term disability matters.
